How a Quartz Broadcast Floor Is Built
The build is layered rather than poured. We prime the slab, then broadcast colored quartz into a body coat until the surface will not take any more, which is what gives the finished floor its density. The excess is swept and vacuumed back off, and the locked-in aggregate is sealed with one or two coats of resin depending on what the room has to resist. The result is several times the film thickness of a rolled coating and a great deal harder.
Two things follow from that structure. The first is slip resistance you can specify rather than hope for, because the aggregate profile is in the body of the floor and not in a gritted topcoat that wears off the traffic lanes first. The second is repairability: a damaged area is ground back and rebroadcast, and since the color lives in the quartz rather than in a pigmented resin, the repair blends in instead of announcing itself.
